Creative Arts > Musical Children's MusicalsEach spring children from Kindergarten through high school come together to prepare a musical drama for Salem worship services and a care center. Saturday morning rehearsals are held from 10 to noon about 8-10 weeks prior to the presentation date. Children are given a songbook and rehearsal CD to learn lines and songs at home and learn choreography and staging at the Saturday rehearsals. Adults and older youth help with set construction, costumes, choreography, sound, snacks, etc. Besides being a lot of fun, musicals help build faith, skill, stage presence, confidence, and the ability to communicate among participants. Recent musicals include Under God's Sea in 3D, G.P.S., Rock Solid, Livin' Inside Out, and Donkey Tales. Watch the Creative Arts News & Events page each January for Musical Drama titles and schedule. |
